Launching a 3-year concert series at Cadogan Hall, Alpha and Omega is inspired by the first and last orchestral works of some of the world’s greatest composers.

The concert also includes the resulting work of our 2018 Orion Composers Competition, where our winning composer has been set the unusual challenge of writing a special commission for Dyson Technologies and Orchestra, combining an orchestra with acoustic and engineering phenomena to create sound. As a collaboration between composer, Orion and Dyson, one thing we know for sure is that it will be a unique work, and a fascinating celebration of music and technology.

Mozart’s First Symphony, written aged eight just around the corner from Cadogan Hall, already contains a motif in the second movement which can be found in many of Mozart’s subsequent works, including as the main subject of the last movement of the Jupiter, his final symphony, and one which takes Mozart’s compositional audacity to his furthest extremes.

In collaboration with Dyson.
