Led by distinguished conductor, Barry Wordsworth, the RPO performs a sparkling programme of English gems, opening with Vaughan Williams’ buzzing The Wasps Overture. Mark Bebbington will impress with John Ireland’s iridescent Piano Concerto, whilst two much-loved favourites will round out the concert: Vaughan Williams’ serene The Lark Ascending and Elgar’s quintessentially English ‘Enigma’ Variations.

This is the RPO’s designated 2017 Legacy Concert, which aims to create awareness around the importance of legacy giving and to thank supporters (members of the RPO 1946 Club) who have pledged to leave a gift to the Orchestra in their will.

This concert is kindly supported by The John Ireland Trust.
