The Bath Festival Orchestra performs four concerts at Cadogan Hall this season with music including Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Concerto and a recreation of one of its original programmes from the 1960s which was conducted by Michael Tippett with concertmaster and founder of the orchestra Yehudi Menuhin.
This concert, featuring Louise Farrenc's Symphony No. 2, Haydn's Trumpet Concerto and Schubert's Symphony No 5, has the grace and elegance of a Georgian spa town and tunes that you'll be humming all the way home.
Opening with a luscious, Romantic overture by English-Czech composer Agnes Tyrrell, this programme also includes Beethoven's youthful 12 Contradances and heroic 'Emperor' Concerto and Dvořák's charming, folk-tune infused Czech Suite.
