The Tallis Scholars
Peter Phillips director
In 2014 John Tavener would have celebrated his 70th birthday but sadly he died in 2013.
The Tallis Scholars had a long association with John. To mark the tenth anniversary of his death, we are pleased to present a special programme of his music containing two pieces written for The Tallis Scholars, alongside music by his great Tudor namesake, and possible ancestor, John Taverner.
Between them the two Tave(r)ners sum up many of the leading trends in sacred choral music of their separate times, and to compare them makes for a fascinating evening.
Duration: to be confirmed – we will update this page as soon as we have running times. Please do not call the Box Office as they do not have any further information than that currently on our website.
