The Down for the Count Swing Orchestra is a big band with strings, performing the greatest hits of the Swing Era. Conducted by pianist/arranger Mike Paul-Smith, who also compères the shows, the Down for the Count Swing Orchestra is renowned for its warm and engaging performances and for its musical authenticity. Expect to hear faithful recreations of great Capitol Studios recordings from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, transcriptions of Charlie Parker With Strings classics, big band with strings tunes from the Tommy Dorsey and Harry James Orchestras, original arrangements of jazz standards written by the Orchestra, and, in 2025, a focus on the great Sammy Davis Jr. in his centenary year.
