The Down for the Count Swing Orchestra is a big band with strings which performs the greatest hits of the Swing Era. At their three shows at Cadogan Hall this season, you’ll hear faithful recreations of great Capitol Studios recordings from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, transcriptions of Charlie Parker With Strings classics, big band with strings tunes from the Tommy Dorsey and Harry James Orchestras, and original arrangements of jazz standards written by the orchestra’s principal conductor Mike Paul-Smith.
