One of the world’s most captivating sopranos and recognised by luminaries such as Plácido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli, Aida Garifullina has earned global acclaim for her exceptional vocal artistry. Her illustrious career includes performances at the most prestigious opera houses worldwide, and now London audiences have the opportunity to experience her remarkable talent up close.

This year, Garifullina stunned audiences at the BBC’s ‘Doctor Who’ Prom, where her ethereal renditions of ‘Vale Decem’ and ‘Abigail’s Song’ earned her rave reviews. Critics hailed her exceptional contribution, with Music OMH praising her “gorgeously bell-like tones” and Broadway World commending her “haunting and uplifting performances”. These moments showcased Garifullina’s ability to infuse each piece with both technical brilliance and emotional resonance, captivating audiences in a way few performers can.

Garifullina’s return to London in September to perform Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata at the Royal Opera House further cemented her status as one of the most exciting sopranos of her generation. Her portrayal was universally praised, blending vocal mastery with deep emotional conviction.

“There was a brilliance to her performance,” wrote the Financial Times, and the Express hailed her performance in the tragic role as “an emotional triumph”. Critics and audiences alike were struck by her ability to transform onstage, bringing to life Violetta’s carefree beginnings, her defiant independence, and, ultimately, her tragic fragility.
