He’s invented a word.
He says it’s the word the world needs now.
She’s going to make him explain why.
Alastair Campbell has spent his working life working with and commenting on other people’s words. This October he will have to defend one of his own.
PERSEVILIENCE: The word the world needs now is the title of Campbell’s new book, published by Atlantic that day. It is also the starting point for a conversation with Mishal Husain.
Campbell, host of The Rest Is Politics and editor-at-large of The New World, has been at the centre of British politics for more than thirty years. Husain, one of the country’s leading broadcasters and host of The Mishal Husain Show podcast, has built a reputation as one of the most insightful broadcasters of her generation.
Expect the book’s analysis of the state of the country and the state of the world to feature. Plus the state of Campbell himself – he writes with compelling honesty about love, loss, friendship and what it takes to keep going in the face of adversity. He tries to practise as well as preach persevilience and urges us all to do so to live a better life and create a better world.
“I’ve made up a word and turned it into a book. Mishal is going to ask me to justify it. That’s the whole evening, and I can’t wait.” Alastair Campbell
“I’m looking forward to having Alastair in the hot seat, talking ideas as well as words. Join us – it won’t be dull.” Mishal Husain
