Susie Cave in Conversation with Bella Freud
For nearly three decades, Susie and Nick Cave have formed one of contemporary culture’s most compelling creative partnerships. Through music, fashion, art and profound personal loss, their relationship has become deeply intertwined with their creative work.
Their new book, Susie, created with renowned photographer Dominique Issermann and featuring reflections and lyrical texts by Nick Cave, opens a window onto that world for the first time.
Photographed across decades by Issermann, a close friend of the Cave family, and accompanied by Nick Cave’s deeply personal writings, Susie is an intimate portrait of Susie Cave as mother, wife, designer, collaborator and creative force in her own right.
Together, 5×15 and Chelsea Arts Festival bring together Susie Cave and renowned fashion designer Bella Freud at Cadogan Hall for an exclusive London evening exploring creativity, style, motherhood and the role beauty and art can play in surviving loss.
This event is part of the 2026 Chelsea Arts Festival.
