Claire Martin OBE and Callum Au celebrate the launch of the Parliamentary Jazz Awards ‘Album of the Year’, Songs and Stories, bringing together its full symphonic forces live on stage for the very first time in this orchestral concert of jazz standards and American Songbook classics.

‘The finest jazz singer of her generation’ (Sunday Times), Claire Martin has been a tour de force on the UK Jazz scene for over 30 years, winning the British Jazz Awards a staggering eight times. Callum Au is fast establishing an international reputation as one of the most sought-after composers and arrangers on the scene today, working with the world’s leading artists such as Michael Bublé and Quincy Jones.

In this unmissable concert, 50 of the UK’s finest musicians will share the stage with Claire and Callum in their debut for orchestra, big band and voice, showcasing brand new takes on much-loved songs, including ‘Hello, Young Lovers!’, ‘Pure Imagination’, ‘I Concentrate on You’, and many more. This promises to be a unique and unforgettable evening.

‘The result is what many strive for, but few achieve: popular music that sounds both familiar and new. By recasting songs such as ‘Hello, Young Lovers!’ and ‘I Concentrate On You’, Martin and Au bring them to life, sometimes quite startlingly… That’s what you get with a brilliant score and 50 hand-picked musicians.’ (The Guardian)

Duration: approx. 2 hours (incl. interval)
