The 30-piece Down for the Count Swing Orchestra returns to Cadogan Hall for another big-band-with-strings celebration.
You’ll be treated to the music of Nat ‘King’ Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, and many more, brought back to life by some of the UK’s top jazz musicians and arrangers.
This “big band with strings” preserves and protects the musical heritage of these great artists – but this is no mere nostalgia trip, as Down for the Count perform each song in their own unmistakable style, breathing new life into the best vintage music.

Down for the Count Swing Orchestra
The Down for the Count Orchestra is a big band with strings which performs the greatest hits of the Swing Era. At its three shows at Cadogan Hall this season, you’ll hear faithful recreations of great Capitol Studios recordings from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, transcriptions of Charlie Parker With Strings classics, big band with strings tunes from the Tommy Dorsey and Harry James Orchestras, and original arrangements of jazz standards.
