Stephanie Gonley director

It is a pleasure to welcome the highly talented MultiPiano Ensemble in a programme that sees no less than three grand pianos on the stage.

Since its launch in 2011 the group has enjoyed worldwide success which includes a recording of the Mozart multi-piano concertos with the English Chamber Orchestra in 2021, a recording that achieved a remarkable sixth place in the UK classical music charts.

This concert features the UK premieres of Mozart’s Larghetto & Allegro for two pianos & orchestra which has been completed by Tomer Lev (one of the group’s members) and Mendelssohn/Moscheles’ Fantaisie brillante & Variations.

MultiPiano Ensemble also performs Mozart’s Concerto for Three Pianos to complete this exciting programme of works for multi-hands.

Directed by Stephanie Gonley, the Orchestra then performs Mendelssohn’s ever-popular Fourth Symphony, the ‘Italian’. Written during Mendelssohn’s tour of Europe in the early 1830s, the Symphony is inspired by the sights, sounds and colours of 19th-century Italy.

Duration: approx. 1 hour 45 mins (incl. interval)
