A Season’s First for ECO
As part of its educational Close Encounters outreach programme, the ECO has teamed up Dr Bruno Bower, musicologist and composer from Imperial College London to give an introductory course – streamed online – on the music and composers in the ECO’s 2021-22 London season. This exciting new series of nine monthly talks runs from 15 September 2021 to 11 May 2022.
The English Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Roberto Forés Veses, performs Bruch’s ever-popular Violin Concerto No. 1 with soloist Leia Zhu. Having made her debut with the orchestra in 2020, Leia Zhu is one of the most exciting talents of a generation.
Beethoven’s Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus and Mozart’s ‘Haffner’ Symphony complete a programme that also includes a world premiere performance by British composer Stuart Turnbull.
