Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, rightly recognised as one of the finest university orchestras in the UK, is welcomed back for its annual concert at Cadogan Hall.
Following a theme of celebrating life and hope during these difficult times, Brahms’s expansive Schicksalslied, ‘Song of Destiny’, opens the programme with the combined forces of Imperial College’s Choir and Chamber Choir and members of the London Philharmonic Choir.
Acclaimed Nigerian-American soprano Francesca Chiejina takes the stage to perform Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs, his musical swansong to the world.
The evening will be brought to a fiery close with Nielsen’s life-affirming Symphony No. 4, composed against the backdrop of the First World War, featuring a battle between two sets of timpani.
This is certainly an evening not to be missed!
Duration: approx. 1 hour 45 mins (incl. 20-minute interval)
