James Allen’s Girls’ School was founded in 1741 and is one of the country’s leading independent day schools.

JAGS has always taken particular pride in its musical heritage with both Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams having taught at the school.

Within an ambitious and varied programme, JAGS acknowledges the Platinum Jubilee with two Coronation Anthems by Handel and celebrates the 150th anniversary of Vaughan Williams’s birth with two of his most popular works – the Tallis Fantasia and Wasps Overture.
