After a terrific set at the Love Supreme festival, pianist Christian Sands comes to London with Luques Curtis and Terreon Gully to celebrate Erroll Garner, with an opening set from sensational saxophonist Camilla George.
Sands has that same affable understanding of the audience as he recognizes their innate desire to be entertained as well as enlightened. He says, ‘Pop music is essential in jazz. It’s new melodies, it’s new stories, or same stories told in different ways. Jazz is about storytelling and pop music has a unique story to tell.’
19:30 – 20:05 Camilla George
20:25 – 21:40 Christian Sands
Duration: approx. 2 hours 15 mins (incl. interval)
