Following rave reviews of two sell-out concerts at the Hall in recent years, Madeline returns, this time with one of the world’s premier choirs.

A gospel singer from Newark, New Jersey, Bell first appeared in Europe in 1962 alongside the legendary Alex Bradford in the musical Black Nativity. She soon became a much sought-after session singer, lending her unmistakable sound to the likes of Dusty Springfield, Joe Cocker and The Rolling Stones. As co-lead singer of Blue Mink, she scored six Top 20 UK hits, including ‘Melting Pot’, ‘Good Morning Freedom’ and ‘The Banner Man’, and continues to enjoy an international solo career.

Founded in 1982, the award-winning London Community Gospel Choir remain the go-to for backing today’s pop royalty. Contributors to the Oscar-nominated The Lion King soundtrack, they’ve performed at the Grammys, the BRITs and Glastonbury, carrying the torch for gospel and its enduring influence.

Madeline is joined on stage by frontman and blues aficionado Paul Jones, who, with Manfred Mann, was at the heart of the British Invasion with ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, ‘Sha La La’ and ‘Pretty Flamingo’, to name just a few.

Whilst keeping in the staples from Bell’s as-good-as-endless discography, conductor and arranger Matthew Jones, also supported by his own celebrated choir, brings you a new programme that’s sure to take you to church!

Don’t miss this musical homecoming, hosted by Madeline’s biographer, John Harding.

“A mesmerising performance and a concert experience that will long stay in the memory of audience members.” Morning Star

“It really was a night to remember, proving 80 is the new 60!” Elaine Paige, BBC Radio 2

“The love shown to her not only by her fellow musicians on stage but also by the audience was moving to witness.” RnR Magazine
