Rimma Sushanskaya and the National Symphony Orchestra present Roman Sun, Russian Soul, a concert exploring Tchaikovsky’s ability to blend the warmth of Italian influences with the profound depth of the Russian soul.

The programme opens with the vibrant Capriccio Italien, which incorporates cheerful street melodies and military bugle calls that Tchaikovsky noted during his stay in Rome.

The concert continues with the magnificent and challenging Violin Concerto, showcasing the artistry of the outstanding young violinist Charlotte Spruit.

The grand finale is the powerful and dramatic Symphony No. 4, which takes listeners on an emotional journey from despair to a triumphant, exhilarating conclusion.

This concert presents a compelling narrative arc through three of the composer’s most beloved works.
