Saxophonist Fraser has played across the world and is a regular in some of London’s leading clubs. He has brought his own band to Ronnie Scott’s on numerous occasions and is now signed to the esteemed UK jazz label Ubuntu Music, with whom he released his latest album TipTop! in 2023. A working musician, Fraser has cut his teeth and paid his dues on the London scene over the last decade and a half.

The band bring you hard-bop-inspired original tunes, led by Smith’s weighty tenor sax playing. A concert for jazz lovers, rooted firmly in the traditions of the bebop idiom. Fraser and band give a nod to bygone legends of the music, whilst retaining a ‘youthful enthusiasm born of the 21st Century’ (Ian Mann, Jazz Man). Expect everything from the up-tempo to the hard swinging, via soulful ballad as Fraser plays tribute to his influences. In his improvisations you’ll hear inspiration from Dexter Gordon, Illinois Jacquet and unsung hero of the Tenor Sax Wardell Gray.

‘Original tunes which take the virtues of 50s and 60s hard bop and soul jazz and infuse them with a youthful enthusiasm born of the 21st century.’ Ian Mann, Jazz Man

‘An ‘All Star’ Outfit’ David Freeman, Jazz FM

‘A talent to watch’ Jazzwise

‘Smith wallows in that funky Gene Ammons/Ike Quebec sound’ Lance Liddle, Bebop Spoken Here
