Rising star vocalist Hannah Hutton joins forces with her long-standing quartet to perform the music of Stephen Sondheim. The project presents Sondheim’s well-loved and lesser-known works from the stage, re-arranged through the jazz lens by some of the country’s top arrangers.

Hannah Hutton is a jazz vocalist originally from Liverpool, now based in London. A graduate of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Hannah holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Voice as a scholarship holder and is proud to be a Help Musicians-supported artist.

Her acclaimed Sondheim jazz project has evolved over the past four years, with headline performances at iconic venues including the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room, Crazy Coqs, Saffron Hall, and Pizza Express Jazz Club. The project reimagines Stephen Sondheim’s expansive repertoire through the jazz lens: guided by lyricism, improvisation, and the ensemble’s eclectic and collective musical backgrounds, bringing a fresh voice to his timeless compositions.

With arrangements from some of the country’s top arrangers, including Sam Gale, Callum Au and Sam Every, audiences are taken on a journey through Sondheim’s catalogue, featuring songs from shows including Company, Anyone Can Whistle, Sunday in the Park with George, Merrily We Roll Along and Follies.

Hannah has performed across the UK at renowned venues such as Leeds Town Hall, the Barbican, Royal Opera House, Sinfonia Smith Square, Chichester Festival Theatre, and Milton Court Concert Hall. She is also a featured vocalist with the Sam Every Big Band, appearing at the London Jazz Festival, Lichfield Cathedral, Twinwood Festival, and on two Arts Council England-supported tours.

Duration: approx. 2 hours (incl. 30-minute interval)
