Luminaire Orchestra is a new chamber orchestra formed by Musical Director Alex Parker that specialises in playing and performing the original orchestrations of pieces from musicals. The players are made up of a hand-picked group of musicians and include a significant number of outstanding leaders, soloists and members of many distinguished ensembles.

The concert will showcase 13 of the greatest Overtures ever written from different musicals including My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Gypsy, Candide, and The Light in the Piazza, amongst others.

The programme will also premiere the Overture from a brand new musical, The Danish Girl.
