The opening night of the second Polish Jazz Festival in London brings together two of the most interesting stars of the Polish jazz scene, each performing a separate set.

The critically acclaimed, award-winning ensemble, EABS, comes as a breath of fresh air on the Polish jazz scene. Constantly redefining the meaning of modern jazz, EABS are a leading voice of the new generation of masterful jazz mavericks.

The band combines classic jazz sound with elements of electronics and hip hop, fusing them into a unique sonic tapestry. EABS are enjoying global success, consistently filling jazz venues from country to country, while continually experimenting and exploring the outer edges of jazz.

Paying tribute to Tomasz Stańko and Andrzej Trzaskowski’s 1970s’ masterpiece, Wstęp Wzbroniony, EABS will perform the entire record.

The second part of the evening showcases a thrilling performance by one of the most internationally acclaimed Polish Jazz pioneers, Wojtak Mazolewski, together with his quintet. The band is said to premiere some new material especially for the PJF 2026

As a virtuoso bassist and composer, Mazolewski blends traditions with modern elements, delivering hypnotic and emotionally charged musical experiences. With a career spanning decades, he has become an icon of the Polish scene, captivating audiences worldwide with his fusion of classical and modern styles.

His live performances are renowned for their energy and captivating stage presence, delivering unforgettable, innovative experiences and making him a well-known figure in the global jazz community.

“Love Wojtek’s jazz lens… a leading light … bringing Polish jazz back into the limelight!” Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio)
