Corina’s show will showcase selections from her Pangea project which is inspired by a time when North America, Africa, South America, and Europe were continuous, and will feature selections of jazz, sambas, and some originals. Pangea’s mission is to share stories through music and dance that cultivate connection and prompt reflection on narratives that transcend borders.

Described as a “modern Renaissance woman”, Corina Kwami is a musician on stage and screen. She has performed in countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia with her projects (Corina Kwami Quartet, Jazz Age Dance Bands and Pangea) as well as a featured musician with projects in the UK and globally.

Born in New Jersey, USA, to a Ghanaian and Irish family, her inspiration in jazz is flavoured with influences such as stride piano, West African high-life, Irish folk music and soul. She is motivated by the story-telling power of jazz and its potential for connecting people across cultures. Corina’s extended work also includes contributions from the arts to innovation, future cities and sustainability.

As a recognized thought leader with a PhD, she has deepened pedagogy in bridging the arts and sciences to facilitate exchanges between these worlds. You can see her face on series for the Discovery Channel and Science Channel. She lives in London.

Adele Joel is one of the leading tap dancers in the UK. Based in London, she performs, teaches and choreographs all over the world. Adele is a founding member of Old Kent Road Tap Dance Company as well as being part of many international companies including Andrew Nemr’s company Cat’s Paying Dues where she performed in the 10th anniversary Off-Broadway show.
