- BOOKING OPENS FRIDAY 10 APRIL, 10AM.
Some friendships resonate even before meeting.
A piano that asks, a trombone that answers, two voices that play at recognising each other. Music carries the trace of time, holding the memory of years and transforming this friendship into art. An intimate and unadorned project, yet powerful in its shared essence, drawing from jazz, roots music, and Latin American influences to create a unique sonic territory – a place to stay.
Some friendships have no clear beginning or end, only the certainty of existing. From this comes the joint album by Rita Payés and Lucía Fumero: an intimate, simple work, woven with care and emotion. The music draws from the freedom of jazz and roots that intertwine with Latin American echoes, shaped by a rich musical background that stands firmly on stage.
With the collaboration of Juan R. Berbín, producer and craftsman of the invisible, the compositions find a natural balance. Each piece feels as though it has always existed, waiting to be discovered. The music does not only sound – it builds landscapes, opens spaces, and surrounds us like a return home.
The sound emerges from the dialogue between piano, voice, trombone, percussion, and guitar, enhanced by electronic textures that create subtle atmospheres. Some songs invite collective singing, others burn with intensity, and some remain close, like an intimate echo. Voices such as Fuensanta’s appear within this territory where music defines its own truth.
‘Los querubines’ glow slowly and warmly, ‘La primavera’ emerges like a secret spoken aloud, and ‘El diablito de San Juan’ plays with life as if it were a game. In the end, what remains is a tapestry of intertwined moments. More than an album, it is a magical space where Lucía and Rita create a world of their own.
