The Band of the Household Cavalry opens this special concert bringing together works by both Holst and Coles for Military Band, before joining the Orion Orchestra and in a performance of The Planets.

Cecil Coles was a student of Holst, and his Behind the Lines was dated ‘Feb 14th, 1918, In the Field’. Coles sent the manuscript to his teacher for comments, but Coles was killed in action before Holst’s reply could reach him.
