The Pico Players are thrilled to perform in Cadogan Hall for their tenth-anniversary celebration. Established in 2014 by Patrick Massey and Rosie Wintour, the Pico Players have quickly grown to become one of London’s leading amateur orchestras, raising over £100,000 for charity to date. Proceeds from this concert will be going to a charity selected by the orchestra.
As befitting a celebration, the programme includes the first piece they performed in concert, Rossini’s Overture to The Italian Girl in Algiers, followed by the world premiere of a piece commissioned specifically for this concert, The Big Bang, written by resident composer/conductor Leo Geyer. The concert concludes with The Planets by Gustav Holst who celebrates his 150th anniversary.
