Still within the twelve days of Christmas, Twickenham Choral performs Honegger’s intriguing Christmas Cantata, based on popular and liturgical themes and notable for its medley of traditional carols in French, German and Latin.
On either side are heard Poulenc’s two best-loved choral works, the Gloria and the Stabat Mater, both reflecting his deep and joyful faith, solemn and exuberant in turn.
We regret to announce that Sophie Bevan is unable to perform in this concert. However, Katherine Broderick will be singing instead and we are very grateful to her for stepping in at such short notice.
Katherine was the winner of the 2007 Kathleen Ferrier Award. Highlights of the 2019-20 season include her debut with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra singing Brunnhilde in Die Walküre and Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony with the Hannover Staatsoper. She returns to Opéra National de Montpellier for staged productions in the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos and Alice Ford in Falstaff. A committed concert singer, Katherine appears regularly with leading symphony orchestras in the UK and abroad, most recently making her debut with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Sir Simon Rattle singing Helmwige in Die Walküre.
This is a Brandenburg Choral Festival of London event.
