YMSO presents an exciting programme of music by three of the great orchestral composers, opening with Verdi’s vibrant overture to The Sicilian Vespers, a work filled with drama and energy.
Acclaimed soloist Nicolas Ventura takes the stage for Prokofiev’s exhilarating Piano Concerto No. 3, a tour de force of rhythmic vitality and lyrical beauty.
The evening concludes with Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, ‘Titan’, a sweeping journey from serene nature-inspired melodies to powerful triumphant climaxes. Blending folk themes with bold orchestration, it evolves from pastoral beauty to an exhilarating, heroic finale.
The Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra (YMSO) is the only symphony orchestra in the UK dedicated to providing free orchestral training, performance experience and professional development opportunities to musicians on the threshold of their professional careers.
