Buenos Aires comes to Chelsea when the Symphony Orchestra of Colón Opera plays music by Bizet, Wagner, Tchaikovsky and – of course – the tangos of Astor Piazzolla.
Buenos Aires is a city where anything is possible – where backstreet dancehalls pulse to the rhythm of the tango, and where the world’s biggest stars appear on the stage of South America’s grandest opera house, the Teatro Colón.
We’re thrilled to welcome the Orchestra of Colón Opera tonight – and naturally, they’re bringing some of that operatic passion with them: lush, gloriously tuneful highlights from Tristan und Isolde and Carmen.
And just as naturally, they’re bringing the music of Astor Piazzolla – the king of nuevo tango, and the definitive sound of Argentina. It doesn’t get more authentic than this.
