Devised and performed by celebrated composer Nigel Hess, The Food of Love is a glittering tribute in words and music to William Shakespeare.

A potpourri of reminiscences, memorable reviews, scandalous backstage anecdotes and some of the Bard’s finest lines – performed by actors Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) and Richard Teverson (The Crown) – paired with a glorious selection of music by Craig Armstrong (Romeo & Juliet), William Walton, Michael Kamen, Cole Porter and Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love) as well as Nigel’s own witty and delightful songs written for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Nigel Hess himself is at the piano, joined by legendary vocalist Michael Dore and rising star Eleanor Grant.

This is a long overdue return for the show, which premiered at Cadogan Hall twenty years ago, bringing Shakespeare vividly to life and creating a night to remember!
