BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020 Final Past Event

We are doing our utmost to support the national effort in reducing the spread of coronavirus and the health and wellbeing of all our visitors, staff members, and visiting performers is our number one priority. In light of the newly announced restrictions for November, this event has been will now be a broadcast-only event with no public audience at Cadogan Hall.

The EFG London Jazz Festival will run as a fully digital event this year. The BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020 Final will still go ahead at Cadogan Hall. You will be able to watch it on BBC FOUR at 7pm on Sunday 22 November.

BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020 reaches its thrilling conclusion as five exciting new jazz performers compete for the coveted title, and the house band is led by Nikki Yeoh.

In front of a panel of leading jazz names, each of the finalists will play a set that includes standards as well as brand new music that they’ve written or arranged themselves.

At the end of the evening, one will be named BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020. And returning to the scene of his triumph, 2018 winner – saxophonist Xhosa Cole – will make a very special guest appearance.

This event will be recorded for broadcast on BBC television and radio as well as to be streamed online at a later date.
