Renowned for their vocal virtuosity, mezzo-soprano Marie-Nicole Lemieux and tenor Michael Spyres (OPER! 2024 Best Singer) join forces with Opera Rara’s Artistic Director Carlo Rizzi for a concert featuring works by Donizetti and Berlioz. Part of Opera Rara’s multi-year Donizetti Song Project, the programme includes lost and forgotten songs by Gaetano Donizetti, many of which have not been heard in more nearly 200 years.
Celebrated internationally in the bel canto repertory, Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Opera Rara’s Artist Ambassador Michael Spyres have performed in the world’s most prestigious opera houses and concert halls. Carlo Rizzi, who joins them at the piano, enjoys a long-standing reputation as one of the world’s foremost opera conductors.
