Islington Choral Society has chosen Mendelssohn’s dramatic and uplifting oratorio Elijah to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Sung in English, this powerful work with its easy appeal and stirring choruses is based on the life of the prophet Elijah, with fire, storms, curses and a truly beautiful exploration of faith and doubt.

With the critically-acclaimed, professional forces of conductor Michael Waldron, soprano Jenny Stafford, mezzo-soprano Carolyn Dobbin, tenor Peter Bronder, bass Laurence Williams, together with the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra, this concert promises to be an unforgettable celebration of 50 years of music-making.

Please note start time.

Duration: approx. 2 hours 45 mins (incl. interval)
