Alto saxophonist Reiss Ellis Beckles leads a dynamic contemporary jazz group based in London. Blending modern jazz sensibilities with deep-rooted influences from swing, soul, and global rhythms, the ensemble creates a sound that is both exploratory and grounded.
Beckles’ writing is characterised by rich harmonic landscapes, compelling grooves, and a strong sense of narrative, giving each performance a distinct identity while leaving space for spontaneity and interplay.
At its core is a collective of highly expressive musicians, each bringing their own voice to the music. Whether performing original compositions or reimagined works, the Reiss Ellis Beckles Group delivers music that is engaging, textural, and deeply connected to the tradition while looking firmly ahead.
Rowan Hudson is a pianist known for his expressive playing, deep musicality, and wide-ranging influences across jazz, contemporary music, and improvisation. A highly collaborative musician, Hudson has performed with a variety of ensembles and artists across the UK scene. His playing combines rich harmonic language with rhythmic fluidity, making him a compelling voice both as a soloist and accompanist.
Tom Rivière is an in-demand bassist whose playing blends technical precision and creativity. Active across the UK jazz and contemporary music scene, Rivière is known for his strong rhythmic foundation, melodic improvisation, and versatility across a wide range of musical settings.
Mark Hale is a drummer recognised for his musical sensitivity, groove-driven playing, and dynamic approach behind the kit. Recently relocating to New York to study jazz at City College of New York, he continues to develop his voice as an emerging artist while bringing energy, precision, and creativity to every ensemble he performs with.
