The 30-piece Down for the Count Orchestra and vocalists present a ‘sonic ride back to the sounds of Capitol Studios in the 1950s’ (DownBeat magazine) as they play timeless songs from the Golden Age of Swing music.
Expect to hear the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Nat “King” Cole, Peggy Lee and many more brought back to life by some of the UK’s top jazz musicians and arrangers.
The Orchestra preserves and protects the musical heritage of these great artists – but this is no mere nostalgia trip, as Down for the Count performs each song in their own unmistakeable style, breathing new life into the best vintage music.
‘Awesome!’ (Michael Bublé)
‘A potential rival to the John Wilson Orchestra’ (Jazzwise)
