This is your chance to enjoy Down for the Count as you’ve never heard them before, as they perform the music of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Martha and the Vandellas and more, with their trademark passion and energy.
One of the UK’s leading jazz and soul ensembles, the Down for the Count Orchestra are regularly found at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, the London Jazz Festival, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and supporting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Leeds Castle Concerts.
Expect to hear well-known classics alongside rare gems, as the Orchestra celebrates some of the best music of the 20th century.

The Down for the Count Orchestra is a big band with strings which performs the greatest hits of the Swing Era. At its three shows at Cadogan Hall this season, you’ll hear faithful recreations of great Capitol Studios recordings from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, transcriptions of Charlie Parker With Strings classics, big band with strings tunes from the Tommy Dorsey and Harry James Orchestras, and original arrangements of jazz standards.
