70 years ago Chelsea Opera Group chose for its inaugural concert Mozart’s Don Giovanni. In the tradition of bringing to its audiences the unusual and the unjustly neglected, they are celebrating 70 years of music-making with Mozart – but with a difference. This will be a rare opportunity to hear Richard Strauss’ controversial and fascinating reworking of Mozart’s Idomeneo, commissioned by the Vienna State Opera to mark the 130th anniversary of the work’s premiere.

Concert performance in German with English surtitles.

Please note start time.

Recommended age: 7+

Duration: approx. 2 hours 20 minutes (incl. interval)

This event is not socially-distanced

As the government considers a move away from social distancing measures, such as the two-meter rule, it is our greatest hope that this event may be staged to a full-capacity audience.

Naturally, this is entirely conditional on the country’s ability to keep the virus under control. Therefore performances that have been sold to a full-capacity audience may be postponed or cancelled should distancing measures remain in place.

However, please be assured that all ticket purchases are fully protected and in the case of a rescheduled or cancelled event, customers are entitled to exchanges, credits, or refunds.
